Title says it all. It is both on eBay and mwave.com. The eBay price is cheaper at $145.99 with Free Shipping. I'll be ordering up 2 and running them in RAID 0.

power consumption is slightly higher at peak, but has had no discernible effect on my battery life.

as for heat, it may just be the diode, but mine reports a good 5ºC lower than the hitachi that came with my MBP...

Is there any indication that a larger drive, like a 640gig drive coming out anytime soon?

That sucks man. I just ordered mine from PCConnection.com today. Them and Newegg are the only authorized dealers with it in stock right now, but PCConnection is the only one that has the one with the G-force protection.

Many Mac notebooks already ship with 7200 rpm drives. I have a stock 150 GB 7200 rpm drive in my MBP right now and it doesn't run any hotter than most other notebooks I've used.

Somethings not right with your drive. My 7200RPM Seagate doesn't run hot at all. 32C according to iStat.
