Anyone place the new 750 Seagate Hybrid drive in their 2011 Base 13" MBP?

How is the performance with Sata III

I am buying one of these as a refurb from Apple, then thinking of getting this drive as my 500GB Hybrid is only Sata II or 3.0GBps

Neither one of the drives is fast enough to saturate SATA II

Anandtech has a good review which shows how the 750 stacks up against the 500

Still best bang for your $ since SSD's are still way too costly for the size I would need which is a minimum of 500GB. I have had great luck with my 500 XT so I just need to order the 750GB and give my 500GB to my son for his 2010 MBP.

Great review and information on that link though.

It cannot compete with a SSD+HDD combination but it is a lot faster than a simple standard HDD and much cheaper than the SSD+HDD option.
Sata 3 doesn't matter at all.
Powerconsumption is not the best. Not ideal for notebook use but if speed is your primary concern, you need the space and a real SSD+HDD is too expensive it is still the best option.
