Seagate announces 1.5TB drive

i must say, its almost about time, the 1TB drive was first announced in 2007 by hitachi. 500GB 2.5" drive announced too.

wonder if we'll hit 2TB drives by the end of the year?

I wonder if they will ever hit their max? I wouldn't be surprised if we see 2 TB by Christmas and 2.5 TB by this time next year.

well it depends on how many platters they want to cram in there too. this is a feat of increasing the density of the platters, which is a much better solution. 2TB by the end of the year with an additional platter might work.
