I was going to get myself a Seagate Barracude 7200.9 500GB drive from Dabs.com for £74.98 + delivery. However, I just stumbled across an offer for the Seagate Barracude 7200.10 500GB drive, over at www.tekheads.co.uk for £66.22 + delivery.

Their delivery rates are pretty good too. I've just gotten Royal Mail Special Delivery Saturday Service for £9.87. Considering Dabs' cost for exactly the same service is £18.75, that's not half bad. Obviously they have cheaper delivery options if you're prepared to wait a bit longer too.

I think the reason its cheaper is that it has 8MB Cache vs the standard 16MB Cache although I wonder how much difference this will actually make.

Edit: I decided to cancel my order for the 7200.10 drive and go for the 7200.9 drive after all since I'd rather have the 16MB cache vs the 8mb cache. I found the Seagate drive available with ebuyer for £73.99. Saturday shipping is £14.09 but regular shipping start from £4.69 and they currently have a £10 discount if you pay using the Google Checkout service so this makes eBuyer the cheapest place for Seagate 7200.9 500GB 16MB cache drives. You can get them as low as £68.68 delivered with their Super Saver within 5 working days delivery option.
