Looking to get a Seagate 500gb/7200rpm drive for my mbpu 17".

I read somewhere here that one ought to get the AS version since the ASG version would interfere with the mpb's motion sensor. But my mbp actually says it's drive is the ASG type.

What gives?

I have the AS version and have no problems with it whatsoever.
 
same here no problems but i used to be able to hear the hd park if the laptop is jolted but now i dont think it does it anymore

But isn't that the point? I want my hd to park when jolted.

Has anyone found problems with the ASG version in a uni mbp 17"?
