I had hoped to pick up one of seagate's 1.5tb drives, but given their recent problems, I'm not for sure. Are the recent drives okay or not? Are there any other 1.5 tb drives out there?

For what it's worth, Western Digital has just come out with a 2TB drive.

I'd stay away from Seagate drives for a while longer. I've been using them exclusively for years and not had a problem, but then again I don't have these latest problem drives.

Yeah, the current 2TB one is a greenpower drive too, so you'll save a little of energy as well.

^^^ Agreed, go for the

2TB WD.

Ummm, not to be picky but rather to clarify, the one you linked is not the brand new WD20EADS 2Tb drive that dolphin842 linked to. The one you linked to is just a dual drive external that houses two 1Tb drives inside. The one that he linked to is 2Tb on a single drive mechanism- $300 and I sadly see instantly on backorder at newegg though there are some reviews from people who snagged one from the initial shipment there!

Ok, but his link was not there when I posted.
