Seagate External Drive 1TB

Hi all,

I have purchased the above and have both PC and Mac and want to be able to shift stuff to it from both computers.

Have moved stuff off PC but get an error message when I try to move stuff off Mac.

Best guess is that your new drive is formatted as NTFS, a filesystem that Macs can't write to without a little tweaking.

Hard to offer up suggestions without knowing how you want to use the external. If it were me, I'd partition it into two, dedicating one side of Win use and one side for OS X use. Again, that would be the best setup for my needs with that kind of drive. YMMV

Yes that is what I would like to do, sorry new to this external stuff but I need to load my pictures, music and movies off. Have pictures and music on both PC and Mac but movies only on PC......

Can you tell me how to do this? I have already taken the stuff off the PC and need to do the Mac now.
