I have a Seagate Free Agent Pro 500 Gig Hard Drive that is connected to a iMac 24" computer.

My time machine does not properly do a back up, it will attempt to do an hourly back up but stops and says back up failed.

I can do a manual back up and it works every time.

Why is time machine having such a problem doing back ups on its own?

I tried to delete all the Seagate software as I want to use the time machine.

I have one icon I can't get rid of on the menu bar that is called Memeo Life Agent, I can turn off this icon in the Activity Monitor and the icon will disappear for that session. As soon as you restart the computer to use it again the next time the icon and program auto loads and is back on the menu bar. I can't seem to find this program to delete it. The icon will not allow me to drag it off the menu bar either to delete it that way.

Does anyone know what Memeo Life Agent is?

Is it in fact a Seagate program?

I know it has something to do with back ups which is why I think is from the Seagate drive software.

Thanks in advance for any help.
