Seagate Freeagent External drive won't mount

Hi

It's about 2 years old and been working fine. Now it won't mount on my Imac (tried it on 3 computers). It is not seen by disk utility or system profiler. I tried resetting PRAM. I am on OS 10.5.8.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Hi,
I had a similar problem with my external HD. What I did was remove the hard drive from it's enclosure and put it in another enclosure. Turned out that the usb on the first enclosure had died.

Worth a try to see if it's that or the HD thats dead.
