Hi everybody,
I have a relatively small, but annoying problem: I use an external Seagate GoFlex FreeAgent hard disc of 3TB capacity. When I (re-)boot my MacBook Pro, the booting time is longer than it should be (based on wheel on white screen spinning time) and then, the monitor stays with the blue screen forever. I have to hold the "On/Off" button to power off the MacBook Pro the cold way. I tracked down the problem to the mentioned USB hard disk - when it is not connected while booting, everything is normal - fast and the desktop appears. (Unplugging the hard disc when the blue screen is there doesn't help anymore though.)
Does anybody know of this problem and have a solution? Mabye a problem with the OS and the relatively new 3TB capacity? (Although the hard disc works fine otherwise ...)
I know chances are slim for this specific problem, but I wanted to give a try here anyway. Thanks a lot in advance!
EDIT: Nevermind, I found out that the problem still comes back even when having disconnected the hard drive. However, when not having plugged in my ACD and other USB peripherals (Time Capsule, Drobo, eyeTV stick, HBCI card reader), it works so that it has to do with one of my external devices nevertheless. Will have to try and find out which one causes the problems ...
