Hi,
My white early 2008 macbook died some time ago due to hard drive failure and it was stored in the closet.
I stumbled on to it a while back and decided to revive it, I bought the Seagate Momentus XT 500GB (ST95005620AS) from amazon and installed it but the machine does not seem to recognize it (I have a bootable usb drive with osx and it doesn't show it as a possible drive).
I'm pretty certain the installation of the drive is correct since there is very little to do wrong there and wanted to get some advice on whether the drive can actually work with this model? (I know I should have checked first...)
If it works, can anyone suggest another way to check if the drive was DOA?
Thanks in advance,
Ittai
