I have a Seagate Expansion 4 TB HDD. It fits better on my desk if I set it up vertically. However, I won't do that if it compromises the functionality or data in any way. Is it okay to do this? Thanks for any thoughts.
In my opinion and experience, it's perfectly fine to run a HDD in a vertical position. Mine have been going for many years that way. Any orientation should be ok for the HDD. Just don't knock it over while it's running!
I noticed on Amazon that the box for that drive (amazon) even illustrates the drive sitting vertically.
