Hey all,
Just got back on my machine after its been down for a few days. I've had a 1TB Seagate SSHD in my 2011 13" MBP since June 2013. In september, my SATA cable failed. I replaced the cable, just thinking the machine was old and needed a new cable.
However, a few days ago, the cable itself seemed to fail again. I plugged in my old hard drive (the one I'm currently using) and the machine still couldn't boot up. So, figuring it was the SATA cable, I replaced it once again.
Upon getting the new cable installed, my Seagate drive still wouldn't work, appearing to have failed. Puzzled, I plugged in my other drive, and it booted up.
Does anyone think that the Seagate drive could have caused my SATA cable to fail? And if so, do you think that the Seagate drive failed the second time the SATA cable failed? It seems to have done that. Just puzzled.
Cheers.
