I pulled a seagate ST1 drive out of my mp3 player (CREATIVE muvo2 FM) after it suddenly died while transferring a file onto it. The player would start up but whenever I navigated to any files it would freeze.
I am guessing this means it is corrupt.
I have since bought a card reader and plugged the extracted CF card into my mac book which tells me
"The disk you inserted was not readable by this computer."
In disk utility, I cannot mount the device, verify or repair it and when I try and burn the contents to another destination I get this.

I have tried a few file recovery programs. Only one has found anything but they seem to be encrypted files. I say this because the extensions on the files don't seem right.
No mp3 or wav files have ever come up but I searched through a few txt files which had a lot of song titles that I recognised.
The drive doesn't show up on disk warrior either.
This is as far as I have got and I would really appreciate some help in retrieving the audio files on this device.
