I'm buying the Seagate ST1000LM014 for my 2011 MBP, and I was wondering…while the drive supposedly learns your usage habits over time and moves stuff to the SSD, is there an app or a way to manually decide what files get stored on the SSD portion of the drive?

Also, does anyone know how this hybrid drive works with Boot Camp?

With the Seagate SSHD's you have no control over what gets moved to the 8GB flash cache, boot times and program launching are typically the things speed up. Apple's hybrid drives system uses two separate drives.

Everything is handled automatically by the drive itself. The computer sees it as a regular hard drive.
