Suddenly when i connect my 1TB seagate to my MBPr it says the disk you inserted was not readable, when i open disk utility to repair it, what is listed on the left is only my hard disk but i cant repair it or mount it, all the buttons are greyed out and i really don't know what to do! The computer never did this and it all happened suddenly, i need to fix the HDD but not format it but i have a lot of important files on it that i can't lose!

Is that a 2.5" or 3.5" external?

You could try booting to a linux distro and mounting it that way to pull files. Linux distros tend to play more nicely with corrupted/failing hard drives.
