Seagate Wireless HDD / Do this on MBP

I have been reading about the Seagate Wireless HDD and how there is an app that will allow you to access the files on the Wireless HDD via the iphone or ipad to stream music, movies etc. Is there an app that will allow me to do this from my MBP HDD instead? I already have AirPlay to steam videos, but is there an app that will allow me to do all sorts of media from my Laptop via Wireless Network or Internet etc?

Share the HDD drive and you can access them wirelessly with your laptop.
