I purchased one of these drives a few months ago (SD23) and I havent had a single problem with it.

I know there were dozens and dozens of horror stories but I guess I got a solid one.

So now that SD24 is out I havent heard too many complaints about the drive.

For someone that hasnt experienced problems, should I update or let it ride?

I have a Macbook 4,1 with the XT. It came with the SD22, and since then I have upgraded to SD23 and now to SD24. I have not had any problems with the drive, thankfully. That said, I am not sure if I have seen a difference in the updates. Maybe SD24 is a bit quicker, but, perhaps that is just in my head.

I would probably guess that since it is working fine, to install the update will not create any problems. Then again, since it isn't broken, no need to fix it.

Not much of an answer, is it? Hope it helps and that someone else offers some advice. I am going to try and install an SSD in the Optibay, and see how that works with the XT serving as my Home Folder. We'll see.

Best of luck.
