search bar problem

does anyone know of a fix for the searchbar that is avaliable in an open finder window?
when i try to do a search with it. it never finds anything. it just keeps searching. over and over. never stopping.

but spotlight works fine.

Hmm... Maybe try trashing your Finder preference file. Look for a file named com.apple.finder.plist in your Preferences folder, drag it to the Desktop, restart and see how things go If this fixes your problem, then you can trash the file on your Desktop.
