Somehow I have 'Ask' as my default search engine and want to change it but have not been successful. Can someone show me the path to install Google as my preferred search engine?

In Safari, click on <Safari> <Preferences><Search tab>, then select your preferred search engine in the appropriate pull-down menu.

Sorry - I should have mentioned that I use Firefox and even after selecting Google under Firefox preferences, the 'ASK' toolbar remains on my system when I open to the internet.

Thanks to all for the help. I finally got the item removed and am now relying on Google as I wanted.
