Search Filter

When I search my contacts, iPhone brings up every thing with the search name in it, much of which is irrelevant. Eg If I had a number for Gmail, then searching for this name would bring up half of my contacts as they all have gmail email accounts. How do I filter my search so it only brings up contact names? I am amazed that this is not happening by default.
