Search Prefences Folder

For annoying reasons, I need to be able to search an entire old image, library, preferences, etc..
Spotlight will only go so far with the "search system files".. it for sure won't look in the Preference folder and likely other ones...

Is there a way I can make it do so? (this isn't the live folders, but a different drive.)

Is there another way?
