Here's my problem; when I start up my MBP (10.6.6) and try to use search in the finder window, it takes about 10 minutes to find anything. After that it's lickity split for the rest of the day. I've even reinstalled the OS and it didn't help.

Is this just my MBP? Or are others having this issue.

I think it's just yours. My 2006 iMac took about 10 seconds to bring up 8,500 results.

Is it searching your entire computer for a text string inside a file? Do you have an inordinate amount of files on your computer?

No, it's the weirdest thing. The first search, no matter how simple takes forever...then the rest are fast as can be.
