searchable external hard drive directory

Hey Guys,

I was wondering if I could get any help for this task here.

I have around 15 external hard drives that are full of old projects that I regularly go back and access. I was wondering if anyone knew of a program that could create a searchable list of the files on each drive, so that I wouldn't have to plug each one in to check if it has the file I need. Ideally it would just be a list and not take up much space. It seems like a simple enough task, though I haven't been able to find anything about it in all of my searching.
