Searches are wildcard-only?

There's a US carrier called Ting, and I wanted to search the iPhone forum for any posts about it, but when I search for 'ting', I get results containing highlighted words like:

sting
tinge
betting

etc. instead of just the word "Ting." It's like there are wildcards surrounding any search term. It doesn't matter if I enter: ting "ting" 'ting' +ting etc.

Is it possible to search just by a given keyword exactly as written rather than that keyword be part of longer words?

Yeah... the XenForo search feature is pretty bad, particularly for short phrases like that.

For searches like that, I use a custom Google search like this.

"ting" site:forums.macrumors.com
