Ok, strange question but i was wondering if its possible to search for a type of file (name, type...) everywhere on the computer except for in a specific folder (without copying that folder to another volume)... anyone, i bow to the people who are smarter than i, i request your wisdom.

Thanks.

If you make Finder your active app and kit Apple+F you should get the find dialog, with it you can specify all monor of different search options.

Ok, i may have sounded nieve but im not that bad..... i have had an idea since i posted last though.

P.S. The find dialogue cant do that.

P.P.S. "monor" is spelled manner. :)

For any further reference i found out how to do it (although im sure there is a simpler way) i just used a utility to turn the folder invisible and then just searched for a certain type of file with the setting on the find dialogue being turned only to search in visible areas. Works a treat for when ya want to get rid of copies of mp3's that were already copied to itunes....

Also, edesign no offence was intended... im just a grumpy person
