Searching for recently added file type

Hi,

I'm sure i'm not being thick, I want to find movie files (mp4) that have been added within the last month (of which there is several).

When I search the mac hard drive it finds them no prob.

When I try doing the same with an external drive (fat 32) it doesn't display any... despite there being lots.

How can I can I find movie files that have been added in the last month on my external hard drive?
