i've looked around and can't find any way to search a specific email account vs. a specific mailbox or 'all mailboxes'.

i just checked smart folders as well and there is no way to do it there - at least not easily.

i have two email accounts the i primarily use: one exchange for work and one gmail for personal use. what i need to do is search each account with all its folders sometimes without searching the others.

searching a specific mailbox does not achieve the desired effect given that i have multiple mailboxes in both the exchange and IMAP (gmail) accounts that i have on Mail for Snow Leopard.

I need to find a way to treat each account separately and search its specific mailboxes - however many they may be - as a whole.

has anyone figured this out?

(note again that i have too many subfolders to be setting up smart folders all the time)
