Ah ha ... Thought this would be another negative post, did you? Gotcha :)

I received my first new iPad on launch day. I knew immediately something was very very wrong. Yellow, gray, pink and green blotches everywhere. I returned it for a refund and decided to wait a couple months to see how things played out.

Today, I purchased this black 32gb wifi from Best Buy. I opened the box with great trepidation, turned it on and promptly let out a huge cheer. OMG this thing is really beyond gorgeous.

Yes, the screen is a tad warmer than my iPad 2 but there is nary a blemish or discoloration anywhere. Whites are pure white and colors just pop!

Yes, I can feel the heat, but it is not at all uncomfortable to hold and I'm sure I won't feel it at all once I get my ordered iBlason back cover on it.

I am so happy and for those still trying, don't give up. Perfect screens do exist.

Grats on your DY. After looking through many iPads and finally getting a DY, I can say that the displays are night and day.

Not all DYs are created equal. I had a week 15 that had a petty distracting yellow corner. My new week 18 DM is much better.

I actually checked out a Week 18 DM today. Blotchy as hell. Multi-colored in different spots throughout the screen.

Got a DY iPad the other day and the screen is beautiful. No blotches and even lighting.

Upgraded from an iPad 1 and in addition to the retina display, the spec bumps make it feel like a whole new experience. Well worth the upgrade for my needs.

Week 6 DL here that's fine too. Had a DY week 14 with lots of dust. Warmer colour than iPad 2.

We have 4 launch day units (including mine) in my area of the office and they're all great. No issues.
