Hey, I am looking at buying a second hand MBP. I was originally intending on buying an MSI Wind and installing OSX onto that, but for a little more cash I could get a much more powerful machine so it doesn't really seem worth it. From what I’ve read I’ve come to the conclusion that a 17" Rev C MBP is my best bet although there’s still a few things I’d like to clarify to make sure I am getting exactly what i want. The 8600GT was giving a lot of users a lot of issues, is this still the case? Is the 2.33GHz C2D really much better than the 2.16GHz Core Duo? At the moment it won't be used for much more than word processing and some light gaming however in October I am starting a Computer Science course at University, don’t know if that will require more but it could be a deciding factor.

So what do you think?
2.16 CD Vs 2.33 C2D ?
8600GT Vs ATI Radeon X1600 ?

Definitely go with the C2D. And as far as the 8600GT, I don't think it's actually having as many problems as people have predicted.
