Hi all. Recently upgraded my 2012 13" MBP to a new Mac mini. In my previous set up I used the 13" MBP as a second display.

Now that I'm no longer using the MBP, I'm looking for a second monitor to pair with my existing 27" TB display. The second monitor is mainly used for email and other various information I may need to reference, so it may not necessarily need to be 27". I'm thinking I could get away with a 21.5" display or thereabouts.

That said, regardless what size the new monitor is, what specs do I need to consider if I want seamless performance and appearance between the two screens?

ie Does it need to be 2560x1440 even if it's not 27" (I've seen 25" in 2560x1440), or would a 21.5" at 1920x1080 work just as well.

What else should I be looking out for in terms of specs? Any specific recommendations of brands/models that will match up best with the 27" thunderbolt display?
