Hey guys, quick question...

Got a Macbook Air (bought it 3 months ago). Love it.

I have 2 options for external/secondary monitor...

(1) a 42' LCD TV (Vizio) connects via HDMI

(2) a 24' LED monitor (Auria) connects via VGA

Which will give me a better quality picture? Size is less important.

For watching movies and working.

Thanks!

resolution is probably more important than size.

the 42 will be a bit large for working on, depending on what you're doing, and how close you are. sitting close to it will probably be a bit overwhelming. and your neck will get tired from looking from one side of the screen to the other.
for working, a 1080 might be ok, as long as you aren't dealing with a lot of text. 720 would be pretty much pointless.

i have a 22" 1080 tv, that can be used as a second monitor pretty comfortably.

for movies, either would be good, depending on how far away from the screen you are. in a large room, the 22 could be a bit small.

as far as VGA vs HDMI, you probably won't notice that much of a difference.
