Second monitor very dim - confused.

Recently my second monitor in the office is dimmed with Mac OS X (not so with other OSs). My second monitor at home is fine.

I do not remember changing any settings on that one. What can cause this setting (it looks like you set the brightness level on the very lowest setting on the mbp main screen).

flaky brighness level of 2nd monitor - SOLVED

I did some further investigation.

Something obviously was flaky with the energy saving routine:

I went to systems preferences\Energy Saver\Options

and unclicked and re clicked the "automatically reduce brightness..." button without any confirmation or actual changing. I guess, that was a bug.

The displays brighness went immediately back to normal.
