Hello!

On my Mac Pro (2009) there are two monitors plugged in:
a 24 inch Dell as main monitor and a 46 inch Sony TV as second monitor.

After the start up of the Mac: when I turn the TV on or switch the source on the TV to the Mac
the TV is not properly in sync with the Mac; there its no picture shown on the TV.

With Mac OS X 10.7 Lion I could help myself. In the menu bar there was a monitor icon,
where I could switch between two saved settings of my TV (I saved NTSC and PAL) and
then the TV would properly sync with the Mac and finally I would see a picture.

Since I installed Mac OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion the monitor icon is now longer shown.
In System Preferences / Monitors I have selected the "Show mirroring options in the menu bar when available" option, but there its no monitor icon shown in the menu bar.

Is there a chance to force the Mac / TV to sync with the help of a script or program?
This would be the best solution for me, if it doesn't work on its own.

It bothers me that I have to go to System Preferences / Monitors to force the Sync.

I would be very glad for any helpful answer! :)

Matthias
