I have been using my Magic Trackpad 2 (MTP2) while waiting for the Magic Keyboard (MK) and have set my iPad to allow “Tap to Click” as well as “Two Finger Secondary click”.

Now I received my MK and found that the two finger tap does not work like it does on the MTP2.
Note this is not click, but tap. This works on MTP2 just not on MK.
I checked and could not find any other settings.
What am I missing?

I’ve noticed that tap to click doesn’t work the same as a physical click. For example, it’s not possible to select text by tapping and dragging the cursor, it needs a physical click to do that.

Well, as it turns out it was only some apps that show this behavior- so not the trackpads fault.
Now we need to wait for developers to actually implement the trackpad fuctionality.
Funny thing is that this forum on Safari is one that does not work as expected.
Just try it. Use two finger tap - then use two finger physical click.
Now go try it in Notes

Agree, I wish they could make an actual replacement to physical click.
