Anyone with a "lost" iPhone in hand can check what is the phone number without ask Siri (if still On and there has been erased remotely)

It serves to win a bar bet, or to get his/her phone number ;P

A good person can wait for until see the owner, but if is not the case, can call to return the iPhone (of course after the owner has activated a new SIM card with the same phone number)

Yes from a locked phone you can click emergency then dial *#5005*74663# and it will display that phones phone number.
