Brought my computer home from repair. Had Console open when my time machine backup started. This is the first time I have seen these strings in Console. Are these of any concern? Does anyone know what macx_swapon refers to? Or HI_WAT_ALERT?

It looks like this relates to memory allocation. There's certainly nothing sinister there.

"Paging" has to do with copying memory from your RAM to your hard drive, into a Swap file (where memory pages can be swapped between RAM and hard drive). This is part of the virtual memory system.

So Mac OS is just alerting you to status changes in the virtual memory sytem. You're OK. :)

Thank you. This is what happens when an amateur goes poking around in Console
