Hello,

lastly I feel like I’m getting a bit paranoid about security on my Mac. I have few questions about it.

1.) Is it possible to infect a Mac with a virus or any other shady software by just connecting a SD card to it?

2.) Are there actually “real” viruses for Mac that install themselves “invisibly”?

I’m really afraid about the security because of all my passwords and so on. I already mostly only work on an standard used account, and only use apps from the Mac App Store or those from trusted developers. Do you think that’s enough for having a “very small” possibility of infecting a Mac?

To answer your 1st question no mac is based on Unix same with Linux I mean it is possible but most likely windows to mac no update in Mac App Store and you should be good to go

You passwords are safely encrypted in Keychain. Most average users should not worry.

Okey but actually I use LastPass because it has some options that I miss in Keychain, does it make a difference?

actually the things that I’m most afraid of, are viruses that are stealing the data from the browser, for example banking data.

Is it possible? Yes. Are there real viruses? Yes. In addition to hackers foreign governments and your government are always looking to exploit weaknesses. Trusted developers can themselves be a victim of hacking.

No system is completely secure. All you can do is try to be as safe as possible. Keep your passwords safe, as you do, and don't use the same password. Be careful of what you download and open. Be careful with who you let use your devices.
