Hey guys... I notice when I'm on a hotspot at a cafe that does not require a password, there are "shared" computers on the network.

I don't have any sharing on and my Firewall is on. How can this be? Any ideas?

Those are the computers, which have some kind of file sharing on, meaning not YOUR computer is visible, but the computer of OTHER people using the same wireless network.
If you would enable file sharing on YOUR computer, you would not see YOUR computer under SHARED in Finder, but OTHERS would in their Finder.

I see, but how do I determine if they see my computer?
If you have file sharing enabled on your computer and you're on the same network with other computers, they can see that your computer exists. That doesn't mean they can access your computer. If you don't have sharing enabled on your computer, they can't see it.
