I just racked my Xserve in a data center that I'll be using to host MySQL databases and some file sharing services. What should I consider to protect against brute force attacks or anything like that? I know for linux I could consider using iptables, is there another way for OS X Server? Xserve is running 10.7.5 Server

There is ipfw which is the FreeBSD competitor of iptables.
