I have ordered the incipio NGP matte black for my iPhone 4, but looking at the pics of it I feel it may very well prove a bit to rugged for my usage. I want the iPhone well protected, but not bulky, and I want to be able to see that it is an iPhone and not just a brick of black plastic.

What thin cases exists which are fairly transparent, wraps around the front enough so that the display is lifted from the desk and also protects the iPhone to a certain degree?

I read in another thread that the Solo 4 had an issue with the power button and that it wasn`t all that good.

Unfortunately, it seems most (if not all) of the small clear cases that you want may scratch the phone themselves without wraps. And since most of them are tight-fitting by design (to prevent bulkiness), sometimes the wraps don't fit. My recommendation would be to get a bumper alternative like the Scosche bandEDGE (clear sides) and some type of back scratch protection.
