When I'm making a call and want to switch my audio option I'm seeing my family member's iPad as an option, but as far as I know it shouldn't even be there. I've never logged into my iCloud account from their device and I don't see their iPad listed under my devices via my iCloud account?

Allowing Calls on Other Devices says:
Use your iPhone cellular account to make and receive calls on devices signed into your iCloud account when they are nearby and on Wi-Fi.

As I said before I've never once logged into my iCloud account from her iPad so I don't know why it's even there.

Any ideas as to what gives?

Adding to this thread that i'm having the same issue with 17 Pro/iOS 26.

I see my kid's iPad along with wife's Macbook Air. Everyone has their own Apple account/log in.

Wife has same issue as well on 17/iOS 26, she see's our kid's iPad in the list.

Have tried turning off various settings with no change.

The only time the devices don't show up is when they are not in use, i.e off/sleep mode. The minute they are on and in use, they show up under audio devices. And it only happens at home when the devices are near in proximity.

This sounds like some sharing feature on the other devices that might be unintentionally enabled or set to a broad scope. Airdrop comes to mind, but I don't think it can stream audio.

Or it could be something like Airplay that's remembering a past audio connection to the other device, and is automatically showing it as an option.

The proximity is a clue that Bluetooth is involved, and both Airdrop and Airplay use BT.

I never had this issue. I only usually see my Mac, AirPods and the two other options for audio sources to hand off calls.

Is the iPad on the same WiFi as your iPhone?
