First of all, first post after following MacRumors after following for years so hey .

As I'm sure many of you did, I waited eagerly for the new MBP's as a replacement for my Mid 2010 MBP 13". I'm now in the tricky position of deciding which model to pick, was hoping I could get some advice from you guys.

I'm currently midway through a degree in graphic design and also undertake regular freelance work on the side. I am an almost daily user of Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign. I have also started using AfterEffects and Cinema 4D (and are likely to use more regularly looking forward). I do not game, or very very rarely.

I am personally not fussed my the new touch bar and would hapily not have it. However I am concerned that the non touch bar mbp may not be powerful for the tasks I will be using my laptop for?

For me this is a big investment and i would be looking to keep the computer for another 6ish years. Therefore it is inportant for me that the computer will be good and efficent with the sory of work i'll be doing 4 years down the line.

I am also not closed to the idea of getting a previous generation model, however i'm put off by the high cost for an almost 2 year laptop. Do any of you have an experience of using the non touchbar model for the sort of task i would be undertaking or could anyone offer some advice?

Thanks in advance :)
