I'm looking for an application that allows the user to import multiple image files, sequence them, and export them as a video file. I understand many image editors do this pretty well, but I'm looking for an independent piece of software that does only this. No excess bloat, a snappy interface, no strains or crashes loading potentially hundreds of high-quality images. The task of rendering should be smooth and stable.

Speaking of that, generally, would there be less unexplained crashes, if processes were slowed down? I feel sometimes that the problem with rendering is that the computer is trying to get too much done, too fast, and trips over itself. If I had the option of slowing the rendering process to prevent crashes, I would.

I have yet to find a lightweight animation sequencer for OS X.
I'll pay in strange arrow symbols if you help. ⤭ ⥹ ⟲

I usually migrate to Windows for this task. I've used PhotoShop and Final Cut on Mac, but both of them require loading up everything else (which is unnecessary), they don't have the options I require and such, and they can't handle a large import of HQ images.

The QuickTime trick no longer works with the latest version. I've explained Final Cut is not an option.
I'm looking for a lightweight, easy-to-use, stable application.
