Hello,
Have an original ATV1 in my bedroom.
Have a mid 2011 Mac Mini with a Synology DS214Play in Living Room. Everything hard wired.
Home sharing worked flawlessly when I used my old Drobo and Mac Mini.
I am experiencing weekly problems now since I moved over to Synology.
Main problems are :
1. Not quite convinced I've configured the Synology correctly.
All of my Movies and TV shows are located in the Synology Video folder.
Then I drag them into the iTunes Library - but not Copy.
If the Mac Mini restarts it seems to have trouble locating the iTunes Library file.
Can anyone shed light on how to make iTunes always look to the right place?
2. I used to spend time weekly manually syncing content that was purchased on the Mac Mini (our weekly iTunes TV Shows) and making sure it was ready on the ATV.
However, I purchased this years TV Shows directly on the ATV. The advantage is that they are downloaded and ready to go - all waiting for me when I go to bed.
Problem is that they are downloading to an iTunes folder on the Mac Mini HDD and NOT the Synology NAS.
This then throw up the "this video will not play on this Apple TV" error for EVERYTHING bar the latest Download.
Connect to Mac Mini - move the files to the NAS and everything is back to normal.
These two problems are driving me crazy.
Can anyone suggest some solutions?
Thanks in advance!
