I finally registered in the forums in hope of finding a solution to my NAS problem. Here goes...

Basically, I want an NAS Raid 1 setup attached to my router. I've narrowed my options down to 3 products.

- D-Link DNS-323
- Netgear SC101T Storage Central Turbo
- Synology DS207

The Synology is the only one that even mentions Mac, but it only does so as "CLIENT", so I'm not sure if I can set it up with my Mac. Has anyone had any experience using any of these on a Mac???

Thanks in advance!

Hi krimco1,

got the DS 207, and use it extensively with my MacBook. No probs up to now, but I don't use the Apple protocol, but Samba to connect to the NAS.

Don't know about the other two, but I think one of these (D-Link or Netgear) uses a specific client software, and this is not available for Mac. But not sure.

You should be able to connect your Mac to every NAS with the Samba protocol...

Regards,

Chris
