I have a pair of 1st gen airpod and really like them for phone calls and general usage. I find them comfortable and don't completely block outside sounds.

I'm looking for some sort of relatively inexpensive knockoff to use for running. I don't want to use the real Airpods since I sweat a LOT during summer outdoor lunchtime runs. Non-waterproof headphones last weeks at best, and even "sweatproof" behind-the-neck earphones only last months.

I prefer not to use the kind that just have ear-tips to keep them in place -- despite trying different size tips they just don't seem to be comfortable to me. Plus when dripping with sweat, they wouldn't stay in place.

Suggestions? I've seen various ones on Amazon that look like they'd wear just like Airpods, sitting in the ear and hanging off -- but there also seems to be a bunch of review-fraud (saw one today with 100 5-star reviews, every one of them dated April 7th) so it's difficult to know what's good and what's crap padded with fraudulent reviews.

I've liked the Mpow Cheetah behind-the-ear but with my Apple Watch as the bluetooth source I get a lot of dropouts when outdoors unless I switch my watch to my right wrist. I'm currently using Phaiser BHS-530 with Bluetooth 5.0 and they work better keeping my watch on my left wrist -- but I'm finding they're not all that comfortable.
