Hi,

I'm not sure if this a watch, app, or phone issue. Generally when i walk my watch calls out at the completion of a mile, the time of the mile and closure of the move and exercise rings.

In the middle of my walk, and after taking a look at my phone and returning it to my pocket, random segment notices were being called out every few seconds. It was irritating, couldn't hear my music and had no idea what i had done to set this off. I've seen this question in doing a regular google search but no answers.

Does anyone have any idea of what I might have done and how to stop it. I'm at a loss.

Running a 12 mini with ios26.

Thanks.

hi
last year i had a problem with segments while walking.
you might have inadvertently hit the splits icon during your touching the watch. that might have triggered it.
i don't like to use segments but do want the Watch to let me know if i have completed each (in my case) kilometer.
i couldn't figure out what it meant by segment anyway, since, when i get back home and end the workout it would identify a segment as maybe the 1st 15 minutes. i couldn't figure out why it chose 15 minutes. and at that, only the 1st 15 minute period.
in my case, i misunderstand what segments meant and i probably turned it on. to get it off, i had to initiate an outdoor walking workout, and while in a workout needed to set the display preferences to both turn off split notifications and also to make the timing for a split set to 1 kilometer.
but that was several WatchOS versions ago.
with the new Workout Buddy the settings might be different (all however, still likely needed to be done on the watch itself and not on an iPhone) . i would look for the fix somewhere in Views and then try to make sure splits are turned off or at least equal to 1 mile.

Thanks arc. I've seen that recommendation on some versions of older WatchOS. Those same display preferences don't seem to be in version 26 or I can't find them. Anyway, your response came through while I was talking to an Apple tech. They recommended unpairing and then re-pairing the watch. So I did that, now lets see what happens with my next walk. I'll post a follow-up after that!
