I got a sneak peek at the App Store yesterday, and was fairly underwhelmed. Lots of gimmicks, not a lot of functionality. Has anyone found an app that can do the following:

Read text or PDF files that are on the iPod Touch? (And doesn't require wi-fi?)

An IRC client?

A telnet/MUDding client?

Well, after some digging I found a version of Colloquy that can be installed on a jailbroken Touch. Is the App Store the only way to get applications, or is there a way to install these third-party apps onto a Touch with 2.0?

I believe the Dev Team has already jailbroken 2.0, but it hasn't been released yet.
