I can't seem to figure out how to browse and select photos from my photo library on my Mac from within apps like Safari. This is very easy to do on my iPhone as the photos can just be selected from within any other app.

I have a "pictures" area available in the finder but the photo library contents themselves are never made available to select.

My workaround for quite some time now has been to tediously export photos from the library on the Mac so that I might then select them from the exports folder.

There has to be a better way.

Thanks

Which version of MacOS? Which browser? In the upload window you should see a side bar on which you find a Media section. From there you can navigate to your photos - something like this:

MacOS Monterey and Safari 15.5. Same problem though with the latest version of Chrome.

Under Media I had a Photos category but when I selected it all that showed up was Photo Booth photos. There is perhaps a way to reset this so that Photos show up.
